Thought of this one while I was lying in bed. I was forced to think about something conceptual to shoot over the weekend for a school assignment (fucking school). It rained all weekend and I had to lie in a fat puddle when I was shooting this....crappy weather.
This shot has many meanings. Anything from Abortion to Racism. Life and Death. Lots of stuff!
Please post a comment about what YOU think it means!!! THINK HARD!!!

Special Thanks to Manual Galaviz and Brendan Binder for helping me capture this image.
Because of the boots, I feel it gives it more of a military kinda feel. It could relate to the war with mass (because of the majority black x's and crushed ones) selective killing... It would be cool to do this same photo with a bunch of different times and have a different shoe in each one... A womens dress shoe, a slipper (sandle), a skate shoe, bare foot... etc. you get the point. I guarntee it would have a way different feel and effect for the one photo... It would be a good final portfolio kinda thing for school... Looks Great though Keep it up...
Very very very awesome. Great idea. Great capture.
In all honesty it totaly reminds me of our government. Decideing who to crush and who not to. I mean I'm not anti-government or anything, but it totaly has that feel. Good stuff!
Hmmmmmm. I think... it's symbolic of a predator, hunting a herd of deer or somesuch. A few members of the herd show signs of weakness-- a limp, slowness, etc. Those would be the X's. And the squished egg shells could be the bones of yesterday's prey...
I'm a sucker for conceptual shots. Great job!

This reminds me of a certain WW2 story my teacher told me. You know, back in the day, the nazi's would make the jews, who stayed in concentration camps, wait in long lines with a towel and a bar of soap. To the people's knowledge, all they were doing was simply waiting for their turn to take a bath. They enter in groups inside this building that comes fully equiped with showers. But not all groups end up taking a bath in this facility. Some groups never come out alive at all. When the nazis feel like it, they switch the shower control. Instead of water, a certain lethal gas comes out (and I suppose you could guess what happened right after).
Anyway, just sharing. This is a very good picture. It truly stands for a lot of things. Great job.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
